BE YOUR PRINCIPAL’S HERO—NOMINATE YOUR SCHOOL FOR A NATIONAL AWARD
The International Thespian Society recognizes several schools each year as the “Top Schools in the Nation.” This honor is awarded to the entire school as they show support for their theatre programs. You can be this school. You could be your principal’s hero, by adding this honor to your school. Make local headlines, and exposure of your hard work.
Andy Hunsaker went out to the national convention , he reported , “...it was an incredible opportunity! Unlike anything we have here. My eyes were opened to the seriousness at which everyone takes Thespians. I learned so much and it re-filled my creative bucket.” Thespian president Debby Gibbs said “it is so good to see Utah participating this year! When are you going to bring your students out?”
In addition to the one-year subscription to Dramatic Magazine that your students get, there is an incredible resource for teachers called “Teaching Theatre” magazine which is sent to the drama coach each month. We have enjoyed reading an applying information from articles on every aspect of the theatre and especially “how to get more out of your students without having to take more out of YOU.” We’ll be talking about how valuable it is for your students to become involved in Thespians. We’ll be addressing all your concerns about funding and ways that we can help. Thespians is a valuable fraternity of artists and we can help you lead your troupe or get your troupe started.
